Neighbors In Action Fellowship & Training Program
Neighbors in Action’s Fellowship & Training Program will provide in-depth and comprehensive training in all aspects of campaign, organizing, and political work. Through hands-on experience, participants will engage in campaign work in real time, and receive training from staff, experts in the field, and highly experienced volunteers from the Neighbors in Action network. Participants will leave the program ready to work in all aspects of progressive campaign and organizing work.
The work to maintain and grow the progressive movement in North San Diego County depends on the next generation of leaders stepping up, and into, the political arena in lasting ways, not just one-off elections. And that begins with training.
By recruiting, engaging, and cultivating a new, robust set of young leaders, the gains made through activism in 2017 and 2018 in North County will continue to blossom. This will set in place an infrastructure of leaders ready to take on races for local office, advocate for progressive policy at all levels of government, and turn an area of “blue growth” into a permanent blue district and region.
Applicants must submit an online application and their resume. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Upon successful completion of the program, trainees will receive a certificate, as well as recommendations to potential employers (and attempted placement in the progressive organizing community). The program will seek applicants ranging from 16-28 years old (other considered on a case-by-case basis).
